Work Week
May 11-15thEach year in May, Cross Bar X hosts a Work Week. During this time, a multitude of projects are completed which help prepare the camp for the summer. It is a great time of fellowship and accomplishment. We hope that you may choose to be a part of this exciting week. The following questions and answers will give you a better understanding of what takes place during Work Week.
What is the typical work week like?
Breakfast is at 7:30am each morning with a devotional thought from the Bible. After devotions, we work on projects until lunch around 12:30pm and then continue until dinner at 5:00pm. After dinner we relax with games, singing, fellowship, and sleep!
Is there a cost involved?
There is no cost for staying at the camp. We ask for donations to help with food expenses for the week. The average donation is about $50 per person or $100 per family. This is not required.
When should I arrive and leave?
Most volunteers arrive on Sunday and we have dinner prepared for those who do. Some choose to leave on the following Saturday, while others may work that day and leave on Sunday.
I have special skills, can I use them at work week?
Please let the camp know, before your arrival, of any special skills that you would utilize while here. Sometimes we will add special projects because we have the skilled workers or pre-assign you to a set project.
