Volunteer Cooks

Volunteers who come to Cross Bar X have had a rich and rewarding experience. Volunteers have helped make this ministry to disadvantaged youth possible. Cross Bar X maintains a ‘family type’ atmosphere where many long term friendships are developed. The following are specifics about the position.

What the camp provides:

The camp provides accomodations and meals for the period while you are volunteering.

Time Commitment:

We ask that our Cooks commit to serving for a minimum of one week during the summer.  We would like for them to come sometime the day prior to their assigned week to get familiar with the kitchen and menu.  We also ask that they stay through the final day of camp to supervise the kitchen clean-up. 

Position details:

We ask that our cooks commit to preparing dinner each day. There will be a provided menu and a kitchen assistant to help in any way.  Meals generally take 2-3 hours to prepare.  Our breakfasts and lunches are generally lighter meals and do not require as much preperation.  If you would like to assist or head up these meals as well, please let us know. 

Christian Background:

Cross Bar X Youth Ranch is a non-denominational Christian camp. We desire volunteers that believe in our mission and promoting biblical principles and the gospel of Jesus Christ. All volunteers must agree with our statement of faith.
