We exist to reach urban and rural youth with the
Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Cross Bar X has six core values.
FIRST We present the gospel of Jesus Christ with each camper. Twice daily staff present the Word of God and then incorporate that message throughout the day in cabin discussions, one on one times, teachable moments, skits, games, adventure, and free time.
SECOND Each camper gets personal attention. Each counselor only has 5 or less campers to focus on. Then there is only a maximum of 25 to 35 campers per session. These high staff to camper ratio and small camp size allows us to effectively minister each camper.
THIRD Cross Bar X is committed to discipleship and Mentoring. This happens with seasonal retreats, mentoring program, “Friday night Coffee house”, church attendance, and personal correspondence.
FORTH It is our goal to involve campers with a local Bible believing church, where they can grow in their faith and serve.
FIFTH Cross Bar X creates a program where there is excitement in learning. Whether is backpacking, riding a horse for the first time, hand feeding the lambs, rafting through a class 4 rapid, climbing a mountain peak, swimming in the lake, or experiencing on the largest ropes courses in Colorado, everything we do points towards Christ and His creation.
SIXTH It is an affordable camp experience. Many of the campers that come to Cross Bar X could never pay for an experience of a life time. The donations of individuals and churches allow kids from the inner city, group homes, and youth programs to attend camp.
